You'll be pleased to know that after three years of working on Particle Physics exhibits for the Royal Society Summer Science Exhibition, I have finally understood what it's all about. Designing graphics for a science exhibition is a unique challenge, not just because nobody can quite manage to explain to me what a Higgs boson actually looks like, but also because in order visually to interpret scientific data and explanations in a way that will make sense to your average punters such as myself, I actually have to understand it first. This year we've gone back to basics and I've created these two big diagrams which, I hope, make sense of the whole 'particles' thing. And it looks pretty too... If this is too small to read, they'll be giving away my lovely booklets for FREE at the Royal Society this summer.
