Rehearsal photographs in The Vaults

I'm really excited about seeing The Cement Garden at the Vault Festival in a few weeks time! I went along to photograph the rehearsals, wielding my lovely new 85mm lens as well as a 35mm. This play is being staged in a really unusual space in the vaults underneath Waterloo station. It's on two levels, so the audience move up and down between the levels, and some of the floor is being removed so that the audience can see what's going on upstairs when they're sitting below. I definitely overheard a discussion about crash mats... I stitched this photo together using 10 different shots to get the full width of the space in. See my 'performance photography' page for more of the shoot. Should make for an interesting set of production shots - watch this space!
