Speech Acts is a double bill of two very strange operas performed by the wonderfully successful and talented Shadwell Opera. The stories of the two were quite different, but the overarching themes were identity and politics. I wanted the poster to have an odd, unsettling feel to it, which meant that I could play around with some jarring colours and slightly uncomfortable-feeling layouts! I was particularly interested in different ways of blurring/obscuring a face, so that a vote/opinion could appear to replace or hide someone's identity.
